Evaluating Open Source Software

Framework for evaluating open source software components

Topic Maps and other semantic technologies are now available in a range of software packages and services, but how are we to choose the most suitable solution?

Through its participation in the European development project COSI, Redpill Linpro has developed a framework for evaluating open source software components. The framework is freely available from Redpill Linpro’s web site and can be used by anyone to make qualified and documented choices of open source software.

The idea of Topic Maps is essential to enable dynamic information logistic. This requires a system that understands the context of the user to provide relevant informations and options automatically. Therefore semantic analysis is needed organizing content in a dynamic net structure.
